Medicare will be issuing new cards to all beneficiaries between April 2018 and April 2019. To assist in protecting your identity and keeping your information secure, the new cards will not have your social security number on them. Medicare will be mailing the new cards to the address on file with social security, so it is important to be sure that social security has the correct address! If you have any questions, our social worker, Sandy Morrison, LSW can assist you with this. For more information on the coming change, you can visit this website: https://www.medicare.gov/forms-help-and-resources/your-medicare-card.html.

NCAL, the National Center for Assisted Living is the organization that represents Assisted Living communities all over the US. The Residential section of our home falls under that category. They have a new page on their website called Resources For Consumers that you should look at if you are interested in learning more about Assisted Living. I recommend you give it a look. And of course if you have any questions about our residential care feel free to contact myself, Doreen Locke, Director of Nursing Services, or Sandy Morrison, Social Services.
Medicare Open Enrollment is from October 15th – December 7th. Coverage and costs can change each year for health and drug plans. It is recommended that everyone who has Medicare check their coverage each year. You can search and compare plans at www.Medicare.gov . If you decided to make changes now, they would be effective January 1, 2016. Seniors Plus is another valuable resource. You can make an appointment to speak with one of their Medicare experts or visit their website at www.seniorsplus.org .
Every year, Liberty Mutual sends a team of volunteers to spend a day helping us out! In the morning they help with spring cleaning as you can see here, and in the afternoon they treat our residents to an ice cream social. Look in our Gallery for more pictures of the Liberty Mutual Team hard at work!
